I’ve been thinking about the word belief a lot lately. It was spurred on by a post from my friend Ann, in which she wrote…“See, hope is beautiful, but it’s always clouded with a mist of ‘maybe,’…But belief is hope with conviction. Belief says ‘I know’ this is going to happen. I know my life will be different. Not that my life can be different, but that my life will be different.”
Those words inspired me. And got me thinking.
About belief… conviction… the acceptance of something as truth. And what happens when you believe.
Like Gavin DeGraw sings in his melty voice, in his song Belief… “Belief makes things real.” And I’m not sure that we always want real… real means acknowledgement…..feeling…. ownership. It means authenticity. Coming face to face with things we might have wanted to hide away. Vulnerability. Maybe even exposure.
Belief isn’t necessarily easy. But belief pays out. Belief is worth it.
And so, I’m going to ask you to believe.
Believe that if you choose to go after it, the life that was intended for you, is right there… ready for you to grab it…ready to be embraced.
Believe that you’re worth it… that you deserve your best life… that mediocrity isn’t nearly good enough… settling isn’t an option.
Believe that it is your journey… and you’re the only one to go after it… it’s your life to live… your choices to make.
Are you ready to believe?
